“You wouldn’t believe the number of emails, notes, and compliments that I receive from guests stating how much they enjoyed Dave’s music. In over 250 performances for us, he never missed an event, always started on time, and never left early. He is the model for consistency and a true pleasure to work with.”

DAVE TATE - ACOUSTIC PERFORMANCE SAMPLES

SOLO PRESS QUOTES

Breathtakingly beautiful...A true listening experience...He possesses the special kind of talent you only see come along once a decennium. If you’re lucky...An artist who is so incredibly good that you can’t really believe not all music magazines are writing about him already.”
His own unique style (think of a cross between Paul Simon and Jeff Buckley, not just in style but also in quality) hits such a level of perfection that it’s hard to comprehend anything more beautiful….I have come to know long before now, as Nick Drake was discovered to be, that Tate is one of the most unique singer-songwriters ever.”
It is haunting, moving, alive and hopeful. This album is capable of inspiring both tears and contemplative silence. The
Houses of Healing is contemporary, spiritual folk…and it is so much more. Tate’s talent is bigger than our ability to label it.
It’s hard not to make comparisons to Paul Simon’s more sensitive folk writing with a similar mix of warmth, open space, breathy vocals, innocence and a dewy, green clarity of intention... His songs have a way of stealing your breath away and removing you momentarily from the passing of time...This is by far the most grabbing male folk album to come through our doors in months...Bravo

Tate has been hailed as “One of the most unique artists ever.” by Heaven Magazine and “An artist who is so incredibly good that you can't really believe not all music magazines are writing about him already.” by Folk Form in the Netherlands.

A native of the Zion National Park area, Tate’s music reflects the awe and spirit of the towering landscapes that shaped him. His songs now also draw inspiration from the Central Coast of California, where he lives. A multi-instrumentalist, Tate enjoys recording and producing his albums at his own Red Earth Recording Studios. When he’s not performing or in the studio, he can often be found exploring the vast horizons of the American West.

While living in Salt Lake City, Tate met Swedish singer-songwriter Victoria Lagerström, a former Ms. Sweden, who had come to the U.S. from Stockholm to write and record with him. The two quickly fell in love and, just three weeks after her arrival, married among the red rock cliffs of Zion National Park. Lagerström never used her return ticket to Sweden. The couple now often performs as a duo or with a full band under the name Many Miles Band.

Tate’s latest album, The Adventure, explores life’s uncertainties, balancing light and dark while embracing the strength required to face them. While his solo work leans toward a mellow singer-songwriter vibe, The Adventure ventures into Alternative and Rock territory, featuring syncopated rhythms, percussive acoustic guitar lines, and vocals that shift between soaring and intimate. The album reflects Tate’s poetic vision as he grapples with life’s big questions. (398 words)

MANY MILES BIO

Dave Tate & Victoria Lagerström

The story of Many Miles began in two places; the towering red rock cliffs of Zion National Park and the mystical lakes and forests surrounding Stockholm, Sweden. Originally hailing from Salt Lake City, Dave Tate’s early musical influences were Paul Simon and Jeff Buckley. Tate released his solo album, the ethereal “The Solitude of Here” in 2006 to international critical acclaim.  As word of the album began to spread throughout Europe, with high praise from several prominent music magazines, Dave’s music soon gained the attention of Swedish Singer/Songwriter Victoria Lagerström. She felt connected to Dave’s music and reached out to him to collaborate.

Victoria, a former Miss Sweden, whose biggest influences included Gladys Knight, Roberta Flack, and Sade, soon booked a ticket to Utah to write and record their first album. Over the course of a couple of weeks as Dave and Victoria wrote the acoustic ballads that would eventually be “The Same Heart”, the two fell fast in love. They were married three weeks after meeting on a sagebrush hill in Dave’s native home of Zion National Park. Victoria never used her return ticket to Sweden. They now often perform together as a duo, or with a full band under the name Many Miles.

Since then the couple's music has taken them across the western United States. After several albums, several European tours as a duo, and honing their craft, living in the music scenes of Austin, Portland, Salt Lake City, and Southern Utah They continue to tour and perform as an acoustic duo and with a backing band all under the name Many Miles - a hybrid of rock, soul, funk, and folk, channeled through Dave’s pop/rock songwriting and Victoria’s soulful vocals. The couple relocated to the Central Coast of California in 2022 the couple are now inspired by the vast horizons of the Central Coast.

Many Miles has recently headlined at festivals throughout the Southwest including at the Tanner Amphitheater, Highland Fling, Logan Summerfest, Trailfest, and Georgefest. The latest Many Miles album “Rising Up” about the power of love to overcome hardship, was released in the summer of 2020 to critical acclaim. Many Miles' music was recently featured in a commercial on all national and global American Airlines flights.
